Using this role, quality inspectors can perform their tasks in SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC). This role corresponds to the SAP NetWeaver Portal role Quality Inspector 1.3.
Quality inspectors can find the functions and services for the inspection process in the Quality Inspection service map that is divided into several work centers.
Work Center |
Activities |
---|---|
Work Overview |
Here, quality inspectors can find their personal worklist, which also allows them direct access to further processing, such as results recording, defects recording, processing of notifications or tasks, and confirmation. |
Inspections |
Here, quality inspectors can find important functions for their daily tasks. For example, they can record the results and defects for inspection lots and create quality notifications. |
Confirmation |
Here, quality inspectors confirm materials, times, and defects in a production order. |
Inspection Lots |
Here, quality inspectors process the data for inspection lots or create new inspection lots manually. For example, they inspect materials that are maintained in batches and stored in warehouses on a regular basis at the batch expiration date or other recurring defined points in time. |
Usage Decision |
Based on the inspection results, a quality inspector makes a decision about the further usage of an inspection lot. He or she can accept or reject the inspection lot quantities for usage. |
Physical Samples |
In a goods receipt inspection or during the production process, quality inspectors draw one or more physical samples manually. The system determines the sample size based on the information from the inspection plan and the assigned sample-drawing procedure. |
Quality Notifications |
Here, quality inspectors create and process quality notifications for various notification types and the respective tasks. |
Reports |
Here, quality inspectors or quality managers can evaluate quality data, and display reports and statistics relating to inspection results and defects. If you are using SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (SAP BI), you can call the relevant reports from SAP BI. In addition, there are transactions in SAP ERP with which you can create these reports, for example, the QM Cockpit for Evaluations under (transaction QGA4). |
This is a sample role that maps the complete quality inspection process. Instead of using the delivered role directly, you should copy it to one or more roles of your own. In the new, enterprise-specific roles, you adjust the menu elements to fit your planned process steps and tasks. You then assign the authorizations. For more information, see User and Role Administration of AS ABAP.
To be able to use this role, you must activate the business function Quality Management, Extensions (OPS_QM_EXTENSIONS).
This role belongs to the application component EP-PCT-MAN-QI.
Depending on the system landscape used, the role requires individual applications or reports from remote systems. This is the case in particular with reports (system alias SAP_BW, SAP_BI). In this case, you have to create system connections. For more information, see 5.10 Remote Systems.
In most cases, the name of the system connection matches the name of the system alias, but specific connection attributes can be attached (_RFC, _HTTP, _HTTPS). For most of the ERP NWBC roles, the connection type is H.
This role contains the system alias SAP_BW.
Make the system settings in Customizing:

No authorization objects are assigned to this role and it cannot therefore be used for authorization assignment.
