With this business function, you can use the Voyage Management and Information System (VMIS) functions. You can use VMIS during the supply process for your remote locations and for simplified processing of voyages from your base location to your remote locations. You can also use it to more easily carry out the Remote Logistics Management (RLM) functions.

You can choose from the following functions:
Enhancement of vehicle master data
In the vehicle master data, you can define vehicles that you use to supply your remote locations. You can store data for calculating a vehicle's driving time (such as the average speed) and communication data You can also assign rescue equipment to the vehicle.
Enhancement of Location Master Data for Remote Locations
In the location master data, you can define locations as base locations (beginning of a voyage) and remote locations (such as oil rigs). You can also store the geographical coordinates of a location (latitude, longitude) as well as time information (duration of stay at remote location, additonal time at base location). The system uses this data when creating a voyage to calculate the estimated driving time of a vehicle. In addition, you can assign predefined routes or transportation connection points.
VMIS Overview Screen
The VMIS overview screen displays voyages and related information (such as voyage status, vehicle, voyage type), according to your selection criteria. From the VMIS overview screen, you can go to the transactions for creating new voyages, displaying existing voyages, and displaying shipments that belong to the voyage.
Simplified Voyage Processing
Simplified Execution of Remote Logistics Management (RLM) Functions
When processing a voyage, you can use various functions at the push of a button (such as creating shipments, assigning available containers to shipments, printing loading lists).
