Procedure documentationPreselecting the Transport Request Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can use the preselected request function to simplify the attaching of objects to a transport request in the application for end users. Once a user (for example, a developer) creates or modifies objects in the application, and wants to include it in a transport request, the application system tries to find a suitable transport request for this user. If a transport request is preselected for this user in CTS, it is proposed as the default request. If you set the parameter WBO_GET_REQ_STRATEGY to the value Smart when you configured the source systems, and no request is preselected, the transport system creates a transport request for this user and flags it as the preselected request. The Create value for the WBO_GET_REQ_STRATEGY parameter means that one new transport request is always created that is preselected as standard, even when another request was already preselected. In all cases, the user can attach their objects to this request from within the application, without having to use Transport Organizer Web UI.

Prerequisites

  • You have created or want to create a transport request in Transport Organizer Web UI.

  • The transport request has the request status Modifiable.

Procedure

There are two ways to set a transport request as a preselected request:

  • When creating the transport request

In the Create Request dialog box, set the Preselect Request flag.

  • After creating the transport request

Select the required transport request in your request list and choose Preselect Request.

    Note Note

You can undo this preselection by choosing Preselect Request again. The flag disappears. None of the requests is now set as a preselected request. In this case, Transport Management System (TMS) creates a transport request automatically and sets it as the preselected request, provided you set the parameter WBO_GET_REQ_STRATEGY to Smart or Create when you configured the source systems.

For more information, see Defining Transport Strategies.

    End of the note.
