This business function provides improved integration of the standard address management functions, allowing you to edit time-dependent business partner addresses both in Media (IS-M) and SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM). The fact that Media addresses are available for processing in SAP CRM gives you a full overview of your customers' data, as well as access to the standard address duplicate check and improved campaign and contact management in SAP CRM.
This business function includes a unified data model for business partner addresses based on Business Address Services (BAS). This includes a uniform user interface for address processing, which should increase user acceptance and at the same time reduce training expenses and eliminate errors.

You can also use the SAP ERP or SAP CRM industry system without any adverse effect on the order functions in Advertising Management (IS-M/AM), which are based on the industries. You can use the industry system to assign a hierarchy comprising any number of industries to an organization, according to criteria of your choosing. This allows you to optimize business partner classification in SAP CRM and thus, campaign and contact management (for example, by defining target groups in greater detail).
In addition, the unique identifier Social Insurance Number is available with this business function in both Media and SAP CRM. This means you can also identify business partners in the SAP CRM Interaction Center by their social insurance number.

Features
Time-Dependent Business Partner Addresses
You can process time-dependent addresses in Media using the standard address processing functions in the SAP Business Partner (SAP BP). The Media user interface for these functions has been replaced by the SAP BP user interface. You can also edit and manage business partner addresses using the standard address processing functions in SAP CRM. When you do this, the SAP business partner addresses in SAP ERP are synchronized with the addresses in SAP CRM.
In addition, you can process Media fields in address processing in SAP ERP or SAP CRM. The system still enters the data in the Media address tables and you can continue to use customer programs that reference these tables.
You can also convert Media addresses and assign households to all of a business partner's addresses.
The system supports the conversion of the existing Media addresses. You can also assign households to the new harmonized addresses.
Business Partner Industry Codes
You can use the industry codes that are based on the customer master in Media, in the SAP BP, and in SAP CRM. Data exchange between SAP CRM and SAP ERP takes place using the customer master or the SAP BP, or both. You can also adjust data exchange with Business Add-Ins according to your requirements. The industry codes in order management in Advertising Management (IS-M/AM) remain in use.
Social Insurance Number
You can use the social insurance number to identify business partners in Media, in the SAP BP, and in SAP CRM.
