Object documentationCollaborative Campaign

A means of planning and executing marketing communications through an indirect sales channel.

You use collaborative campaigns to communicate with participating channel partners, and to generate related partner campaigns.

You use this type of the campaign business object as part of a collaborative campaign management (CCM) business scenario. In addition to the standard features of a campaign, you can use a collaborative campaign to do the following:

  • Generate partner campaigns

You assign a campaign template to your collaborative campaign. You use the campaign template to define the content of the partner campaigns, including the following:

    • The mail form that determines the content of the personalized mail that you send to customers

You can insert attributes in the mail form to specify the use of media. You can also insert related attributes like suggested prices, using the product table, and so on. During the campaign individualization phase, channel partners can insert notes that the system inserts in the personalized mail for the relevant customers.

    • The segment with the customers you want to target

During the campaign individualization phase, channel partners can suggest changes to the target group.

    • The products that you want to promote in the collaborative campaign

You can enter campaign-specific prices for the products that you assign. Channel partners can use this Suggested Retail Price, or they can enter their own Partner's Retail Price. Note that these prices are specific to the campaign and are for informational use only.

    • Any campaign to-dos

    • Add attachments like an excel template that channel partners can use, to request business partner uploads.

When you have generated partner campaigns, your channel partners can individualize their assigned partner campaigns.

  • Notify channel partners

Partners are invited to campaign via a notification (e-mail, fax, and so on), which is based on a mail form. The notification could, for example, contain the Partner Campaign ID, Partner Campaign Description (same as collaborative campaign description), and Enrollment Dates (if set up in the system). You can also add more information in the mail form.

    • General information about a collaborative campaign

For example, you send a notification with information about how to position a collaborative campaign to customers.

    • Changes to the status of partner campaigns

You can change the status of all partner campaigns of a particular status. When you do this, you can notify affected channel partners about the change.

  • Execute partner campaigns

When your partner campaigns are ready, you can execute them.

Note that if you have selected file export as a communication medium, the user who is executing the campaign must have Write permissions in the system.

You can display a tracking summary with information about the number of contacts and bounces for each partner campaign and totals for your collaborative campaign.

You can send notifications and generate and execute partner campaigns immediately or schedule these jobs to run later. You can track detailed technical information about the status of these jobs.

Note that you cannot use collaborative campaigns in campaign automation.

Structure

  • For CCM, we deliver the status profiles CRM Collaborative Campaign (CRMCPGCC) and CRM Partner Campaign (CRMCPGPC). The status profiles determine the business logic for collaborative campaigns and partner campaigns respectively.

    Recommendation Recommendation

We recommend using these status profiles for a CCM business scenario.

Additionally, we recommend that you hide the system statuses for your marketing project types for your collaborative campaigns and partner campaigns. You do this in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Start of the navigation path Marketing Next navigation step Marketing Planning and Campaign Management Next navigation step Basic Data Next navigation step Define Types/Objectives/Tactics End of the navigation path.

    End of the recommendation.
  • You can enter dates and date ranges for the various phases of your collaborative campaign.

  • You assign channel partners to your collaborative campaign, either as a target group or individually. You can determine whether the channel partners are automatically enrolled for the collaborative campaign, or whether they must first accept before enrolling.

Integration

In the master data for partner contacts, channel partners, and corporate channel partners, channel partners can display the collaborative campaigns in which they are participating.
