Common purchasing roles for multisystem landscape (SAP ERP and SAP SRM)
This business function offers the new Procurement Business Package for SAP ERP and SAP SRM. This business package provides a single point of entry to all purchasing-related activities, regardless of the system in which the individual activities need to be performed. It features:
A shared and harmonized set of operative and strategic purchasing roles that can be used in a multisystem landscape
Unified POWER lists that display ERP and SRM business objects together on one screen
A cross-system search that allows you to search for purchasing documents in both systems
The common business package brings together different applications with different UI approaches. It eliminates the need for users to know which activities are performed in which system, and it provides them with a system-independent overview of their individual tasks and activities. This results in less user training and greater user productivity. The flexible role concept of the business package also means that it can be easily adapted to customer- and user-specific needs.
For more information about the common business package, see SAP Library for SAP Supplier Relationship Management on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com.
Enhanced Buyer role in SAP ERP
This business function offers a new version of the Buyer role that has been adapted to the new functions for contract and sourcing integration.
For more information, see Business Package for Buyer 1.4.
Connection Embedded Search
With this business function, you can use the faster, more efficient Embedded Search to search for the following purchasing documents:
Purchase orders
Purchase requisitions
Contracts
Goods receipts
Service entry sheets
Request for quotations
Scheduling agreements
For more information about Embedded Search, see Search.
The new Procurement Business Package for SAP ERP and SAP SRM enables the central contract created in SAP SRM to be used as source of supply directly in SAP ERP. This feature allows you to:
Send central contract data from SAP SRM to SAP ERP
Search for the central contract as a source of supply in SAP ERP
Assign the central contract as a source of supply to the ERP purchase requisition and the ERP purchase order
Retrieve the latest pricing information from SAP SRM when a purchase order is created based on a central contract
Update the central contract in SAP SRM when the purchase order in SAP ERP is saved or posted
These features ensure contract compliance across the company and the risk of using replicated and outdated contracts is minimized. By using the contract hierarchy concept, better prices and conditions are used.
For more information, see Central Contract (SRM Integration).
The new business function enables the Buyer to use different types of manual sourcing in SAP SRM to better control their procurement processes. The following functions are available:
Creation of RFx from ERP purchase requisition
This allows you to bundle your purchase requisitions and create an RFx directly in SAP SRM and sent it to different suppliers.
Central source of supply processing
The user interface for the Collective Processing of Purchase Requisitions Web application has been enhanced, allowing you to bundle purchase requisitions from different areas and send them to SRM for centralized sourcing.
The direct connection between the purchase requisition and the central follow-on document provides a high level of transparency in the purchasing process. You can now view the current status of your request at all times and make changes such as quantity adjustments or item deletions, for example.
This business function offers an enhanced purchasing process in ERP that enables purchase requisitions with a hierarchical service line structure to be transferred to SAP SRM for sourcing. The enhanced process supports advanced sourcing capabilities such as sourcing rules and RFx as well as back-end contracts, increasing the efficiency of the procurement process. In addition, it enables supplier collaboration by integrating Materials Management in SAP ERP and SAP Supplier Self-Services in SAP SRM. It uses enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) to create an end-to-end process for external procurement, resulting in increased transparency and compliance throughout the procurement process and simplifying the integration of third-party tools.
