You can use this business function to provide better support for the administration of employees from many different countries. The enhancements for the Employee Self-Service (ESS) Personal Information area ensure that your employees can maintain foreign addresses in ESS using either the correct country-specific format, if available, or an international address format.
Example
If an employee wants to enter a permanent home address in France, he or she can do so using the correct country address format, as the appropriate fields for French addresses are provided.
This business function allows you to customize Personal Information screens, for example, by adding or removing fields, adapting the screens according to your specific requirements. It is also possible to customize the Overview screens of applications in this area, allowing you to adapt the screens to suit your needs.

Business Package for Employee Self-Service (SAP ERP) 1.31 |
You have activated the Enterprise Extension Human Capital Management (EA-HR) in your back-end system.
You have made the necessary Customizing settings for Personnel Management by choosing
Employees can enter foreign addresses using a country-specific format. There are new and improved address formats available.
For all countries where SAP does not support a localized solution, an international address format is available.
You can specify which countries an employee can modify data for in an application. For example, you can restrict entry of certain countries in an application, if the application is not relevant for those countries. This minimizes errors in data entry as it is clear to employees which countries they can enter information for. For more information, see Maintain Foreign Address Settings
You have the option of reusing country-specific applications to create new applications. This reduces the time needed to create an application as you can reuse a pre-existing one. For more information, see Reuse Country-Specific Applications
You can decide which fields you would like to display on an Overview screen depending on your employees' requirements. To view the most important data of an application, employees do not have to search through several different screens; a summary of the information can be found on the Overview screen, displayed in a well-laid out format.
You can adapt the screens to your specific needs for HR processes, reporting requirements, legal requirements, and so on. You do this by inserting, removing, or modifying fields, rearranging columns in a table, making additional fields visible for country-specific scenarios, and so on. (Customizing of Detail and Review screens is only available for US and Germany scenarios.) For more information, see Customize Personal Information screens
You can enable your employees to plan for events in the future and to maintain data for past events, so it is easy for them to keep their personal records up-to-date. For example, an employee who is due to change their permanent home address in six months can be allowed to enter that information now.
You decide which processes employees are allowed to create and change in an application. This prevents instances of employees incorrectly maintaining data, thereby reducing the effort of having to make corrections and delete data at a later stage.
