Function documentationAccruals

You can accrue committed amounts in funds management (FM) to post expenses in the fiscal periods in which they occur.

Note Note

Since off-invoice discount committed amounts expense in SAP ERP as they occur, no accrual postings are necessary. Off-invoice discounts are imported from SAP ERP into SAP CRM and posted as expenses, payments, and fund consumptions. Accruals are calculated for all other committed amounts.

End of the note.

Integration

Product category data can be exchanged between SAP CRM and SAP ERP. For more information, see SAP Note 1106673Information published on SAP site.

Prerequisites

You have made the settings that are relevant to your scenario in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Start of the navigation path Funds Management Next navigation step Accruals End of the navigation path:

  • Define Accrual Reference Data Types

  • Define Accrual Methods

  • Define Accrual Profiles

  • Define SAP ERP Sales Volume Validity Period

  • Start of the navigation path Integration Next navigation step Transfer Accrual Documents to Accounting End of the navigation path

Features

  • Automatic update of accrual reference data

If you configure an accrual profile to use planning data, the accrual reference data table updates automatically, except if the ID of the accrual profile is empty.

    Note Note

If you configure an accrual profile to use ERP sales volumes (ERP_SV), the accrual reference data table does not update automatically.

    End of the note.
  • Calculate accruals

You can schedule an accrual calculation run in the batch processing framework. The accrual method can use various reference data types, depending on what you have defined in Customizing. Examples include sales volumes (SAP ERP), trade promotion management (TPM) planning data, or funds data. The accrual results are stored within the accrual staging area.

    Note Note

When you schedule an accrual calculation run, you can specify a particular calculation period or a calculation period based on the date on which the accrual calculation run is executed. To do this, you either enter a calculation period or select the Use Job Execution Date for Calculation Period checkbox. To determine the calculation period for the accrual calculation, the system uses either the calculation period that you entered or the current date on which the accrual calculation run is executed and the fiscal year variant of the funds plan.

    End of the note.
  • Edit accrual results

You can edit the accrual results before posting accruals by performing a search and choosing Edit Amount in the Result List.

  • Post accruals

You must schedule an accrual posting run in the batch processing framework to post the accrual results as fund postings, which are transferred to SAP ERP financials.

  • Reverse accruals

To reverse an accrual posting run, you can schedule an accrual reversal run in the batch processing framework. Accrual reversals represent an entire accrual posting run and not a single fund posting.

  • Enhance using business add-ins (BAdIs)

    • You can enhance the behavior of an accrual process, such as the accrual calculation, accrual posting, or accrual reversal, in Customizing for CRM, by choosing Start of the navigation path Basic Functions Next navigation step Batch Processing Framework Next navigation step BAdI: Define Job Processes End of the navigation path
