Business Function Set SAP Mining |
If you work with SAP Mining and activate this business function, you can use the following SAP Mill Products functions in Sales and Distribution (SD) and in Production Planning and Control (PP) without having to activate the Discrete Industries/Mill Products business function set:
Fast Entry of Characteristics in Sales Documents (SD)
Changing Characteristic Values in Material Variants (SD/PP)
Make-to-Stock Production for Configurable Materials (PP)
Multi-Item Order (PP)
In connection with multi-item orders, you can also use fast entry of co-products in production and reference characteristics.
Integration
You cannot implement the Discrete Industries/Mill Products functions and the SAP Mining functions in the same business area or in the same transaction.

You have installed the following components, as of the above-mentioned version:

You have activated the SAP Mining business function set and the Mill Functions for Mining (/SAPMP/GEN_MILLFUNC) business function.
If you activate the business function and import support packages for the software components SAP_APPL or EA-APPL, you must also import the support packages for ECC-DIMP.
Features
If you work with SAP Mining in your company but you also want to use some of the SAP Mill Products functions, this business function makes it possible.
With the fast entry of characteristics, you can enter as many as 10 characteristics on the Fast Entry screen, thus speeding up the process.
Note: Unlike the corresponding function in SAP Mill Products, you cannot classify materials in the customer material info record and thus cannot inherit any characteristic values from the customer material info record to sales document items.

When you enter sales orders with material variants and batch management requirement, you can also make changes to characteristics for make-to-stock production.

You can produce configurable materials and material variants and put them into stock.

You can flag a production order as a mult-item order.
To be able to use multi-item orders, you need Fast Entry of Co-Products in Production and you need to be able to use reference characteristics.
