Prerequisite business function |
Information Lifecycle Management: Tax Auditing (FIN_ACC_ILM) |
This business function enables you to use the extraction services of the Context Data Extractor (CDE) to archive data in the event of the shutdown of an SAP system. This audit areas from Information Lifecycle Management primarily contain data entered from already existing archiving objects and archiving classes (ADK files).
In addition to the data entered from existing archiving objects, you can now take account of content from further database tables by using the Content Data Extractor (CDE). The content is the following:
Data that is not archived together with the archiving object of the application
Data that is basically not archived, because no suitable archiving archiving object has hitherto been made available
The Content Data Extractor (CDE) generates generic archiving objects based on the previously assigned database tables for such data. This data constitutes the context that is needed to evaluate the master and transactional data after the original system has been shut down.
The business function is particularly suitable for customers who use SAP NetWeaver Information Lifecycle Management.
You can use the extraction services as of Release 4.6 C. SAP System Landscape Optimization (SLO) can make the necessary software available to you on a project basis.
The extraction services of the Context Data Extractor belong to SAP NetWeaver Information Lifecycle Management.

You must activate this business function (ILM_CDE_CONTENT_SAP_APPL) in the system that is to be shut down.
If you want to use the audit area Product Liability, in the Retention Warehouse system, you must activate the business function ILM:Retention Warehouse Content for Product Liability (ILM_RWC_PRODUCT_LIABILITY) (ILM_RWC_PRODUCT_LIABILITY).
Before you can archive the necessary information, you must configure the data to be archived in Customizing for the system that is to be shut down from which you want to extract data. The standard system supplied contains a complete configuration for SAP systems. You can enhance this configuration by adding customer-specific objects. You must perform the following Customizing activities:
You prepare the archiving of the information in Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Information Lifecycle Management: Tax Auditing.
. For more information, seeIn Customizing for Information Lifecycle Management, under
, you must set up the tables to be archived in such a way that the system interprets them as transaction data tables at the time of generation.SAP NetWeaver Information Lifecycle Management supports you with the option of shutting down obsolete SAP systems and retaining important data without loss. A lot of data must be retained for years in order to satisfy legal requirements. Furthermore, it must also be possible to access data from systems that have been shut down for auditing in the event of recall actions.
To obtain readable results in BI evaluations, in particular, it is frequently necessary to have additional data from Customizing or text tables that was/were not archived together with the archiving object of the application. You can make this additional data available by using the Content Data Extractor. The Context Data Extractor provides extraction services enabling the following information to be archived in the event of the shutdown of an SAP system:
Metadata from the ABAP Dictionary, such as text tables
Customizing data
Master data
This information supplements and completes the already existing archive data with information necessary for system-independent retention and evaluation.
You will find the functions of the Context Data Extractor in the SAP Easy Access Menu under
