Searching for events using the AMI Event Monitor
SAP for Utilities can receive several AMI events via the corresponding enterprise bulk service. For example, an advanced meter could send an event to the MDUS; this event could be the result of a tampering attempt by the customer. This event is then forwarded together with other events, from the MDUS to SAP for Utilities.
Examples of AMI events include:
information about outages
notifications about missing interval data
information about the malfunction of a meter
For more information, see Event Management.
You can search for AMI events using either the simplified or extended search in the AMI Event Monitor. If you first confirm a business partner or a premise, you can then use the simplified search and the business partner or premise search fields will be pre-filled with search criteria. If you use the extended search, you can search by many parameters, including device, premise, event date, and so on.
To use this process, you must activate the business function Energy Supplier (CRM_UT_ER_1
).
You can search for an AMI event to verify its status. Events are listed by device, type, date and time (that an event was received by an external system), and so on. You can also display additional event attributes and objects that were created as the result of an event. If a service notification or a service order was created as the result of an event, you can launch the ERP application from the search results page in order to display these documents.
There are two search modes available: simplified search and extended search.
If you have already confirmed an account and/or premise, the simplified search is displayed and the list of devices available in the dropdown list are those that are related to the confirmed account and/or premise (these are AMI devices only, because they support event monitoring).
If there is no account or premise confirmed, the extended search is shown.
The toggle between extended and simplified search works as follows:
The search results remain unchanged when switching between views
If you do not confirm an account or premise in the extended search view, you cannot switch to the simplified search view.
If you have already confirmed a business partner in the simplified search view, information for that business partner is available as part of the search criteria when you switch to the extended search view.
If you have identified exactly one AMI device for the confirmed business partner in the confirmed premise (which is likely to be the case for the majority of end customers) while using the simplified search view, the search fields for material number and serial number will already be filled when you switch to the extended search view.
Note
If you have identified more than one device for the confirmed business partner in the confirmed premise, the search fields for material and serial numbers will not be filled in the extended view (in order to allow for more relevant results).
All other search parameters are set to the default, that is, there will be no replication for these from the simplified search criteria to the extended search criteria and vice versa.
