Media
You can use this function to assign media to business partners, and then use the media in campaign execution. This function enables you to send personalized mail to customers that include, for example, the logo of their local dealership or reseller.
To use media, you insert attributes for the media in a mail form.
Media is part of the master data for a business partner.
The system stores the media in a content repository that the system accesses using SAP ArchiveLink.
You have made settings in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management
under .
The following control the assignment and use of media:
Restrict assignment of media
You can restrict the assignment of media to particular business partner roles (BP roles). In the standard system, you can assign media to business partners with the following BP roles:
Partner contact persons (PRCONT
)
Channel partners (PRMP
)
Corporate channel partners (CHM001
)
Authorized business partners can display the media that is assigned to the master data. For example, a partner contact can check that the photo and signature that are assigned to their master data are correct.
Specify validity
You can specify validity periods for media. This enables you to store different versions. During campaign execution, the system automatically inserts the valid version of the media in the personalized mail.
In campaign execution, where possible, the system uses the following procedure for inserting media:
The system inserts the media that corresponds to the attribute that you have inserted in a mail form, if possible.
Example
You insert the attribute Signature for e-mail (small size)
for a partner contact person in a mail form. If you have assigned a signature as media for a partner contact person, the system inserts this in the personalized mail during campaign execution.
If a channel partner does not have media assigned, the system inserts media of the same type from the corporate channel partner.
If a corporate channel partner does not have media assigned, the system uses conditions in mail form.
For a collaborative campaign, you create a mail form with the usage Internet Mail (HTML)
that includes the following attributes:
Logo for e-mail (small size)
(from the attribute category Channel Partner
) in the header.
Signature for e-mail (small size)
(from the attribute category Partner Contact
) at the end of the e-mail.
When you have executed the campaign, the accounts or marketing prospects in the target group receive an e-mail with the logo of their local dealership, and the signature of a salesperson at the dealership.
