This business function offers you additional innovations for Enterprise Compensation Management to optimize the process for managing compensation in your company and structure it more efficiently. The business function has the following advantages:
Managers and higher-level managers are provided with convenient and flexible user interfaces when planning compensation or when checking and approving compensation planning. The following are examples of what you can do with the interfaces:
Display all compensation plans on a single tab
Display compensation data and results as a graphic
Download compensation data as a local file and edit compensation data offline
This allows managers to go through the planning and approval processes for compensation efficiently.
Furthermore, the following user interfaces are available to managers during the process:
Planning Overview
Compensation Information
Employee Compensation Profile
Compensation Comparison
Administrators can set up the user interface for the compensation planning process flexibly according to customers' specific needs. Administrators can also use the poweruser tool to assist managers quickly when technical problems occur on the user interfaces.
The current budget is always available to managers during compensation planning. This applies even if, for example, an employee changes organizational units and the budget assigned to him or her is assigned to the new organizational unit.
Managers can call up global employees in Compensation Planning and process and evaluate their compensation-relevant data.
Managers can use the extended notification workflow to improve communication during the entire compensation process.
New BI content for evaluating data from Enterprise Compensation Management is available to talent management specialists. This allows talent management specialists to quickly compare and evaluate the compensation of talents.

Managers are provided with a flexible, adjustable user interface that they can use to plan compensation. It contains a number of interactive graphics.
For the Manager role, administrators can adjust the user interface for Compensation Planning to suit the customer's needs, thus making the compensation process more customer-oriented. For example, administrators can show one compensation plan per tab or, for a better overview, show all compensation plans on one tab. Administrators can also use the poweruser tool to give managers quick, user-oriented assistance when technical problems occur in the SAP Web Dynpro applications and immediately answer any questions that arise.
For more information, see Compensation Planning or Compensation Approval.
Managers can display an overview of the current status of the planning process in Compensation. They can also call the user interface for Compensation Planning in a separate window from the planning overview to, for example, continue the planning process or make corrections.
For more information, see Planning Overview.
Managers can display detailed information about an employee's compensation. From this user interface, they can call the following user interfaces in a separate window:
Employee Compensation Profile
Compensation Comparison
For more information, see Compensation Information.
Managers can call these integrated user interfaces in a separate window (for example, from the user interface for Compensation Planning) to show compensation-relevant data for one or more employees. This includes the following
Compensation data
Compensation history data
Organizational data
Talent data from Talent Management
Managers can use the compensation profile to get information pertaining to the employee's compensation adjustment or the employee's organizational change. They can continually monitor trends in employee development.
For more information, see Employee Compensation Profile.
Managers can display a comparison of the compensation of multiple employees. From the user interface, managers can call a short form of the employee profile to get more information about the employees for the comparison.
For more information, see Compensation Comparison.
The current budget is available to managers. If, for example, an employee changes departments, the system updates the budget for the employee. This way, the manager always sees the current budget values for compensation planning.
For more information, see Budgeting in Enterprise Compensation Management.
Managers can call up global employees in Compensation Planning and process and evaluate their compensation-relevant data.
Example
The employee works in the host country, but his or her compensation-relevant data is to be calculated using the guidelines and data from the home country.
For more information, see Process Override for Management of Global Employees.
Managers can use extended notifications in the workflow. Extended notifications for Business Workflow allow users to be notified of work items by e-mail.
