Function documentationService Location Workbench in the Interaction Center

You can use the Service Location Workbench not only to find and display, but also to create, enhance, and change technical objects. The object model for the connection object, premise, and point of delivery forms the basis of the Service Location Workbench function. The data is displayed in a BOL tree. For more information on the BOL tree, see the documentation in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Start of the navigation path Industry-Specific Solutions Next navigation step Utilities Industry Next navigation step Settings for User Interface End of the navigation path.

Prerequisites

As the workbench is a complex application, it requires extensive Customizing. For more information, see the documentation in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Start of the navigation path Industry-Specific Solutions Next navigation step Utilities Industry Next navigation step Settings for User Interface Next navigation step Settings for Object Workbench End of the navigation path.

Activities

You access the workbench via the identification – a combined search for the business partner and the technical data.

You can initialize all search criteria by choosing the Reset button. If a search is successful, you can select the relevant object and choose the Other Fields button to branch to the workbench. Here, you can change and enhance technical objects as the workbench displays an entire IBase construct, which enables you to process objects.

If you want to create new objects, you have to select a template and choose the New button to branch to the workbench. If you want the system to use the address search criteria as data, choose the New with Address button.

Structure of the Workbench

The workbench is split into a tree structure on the left of the screen and a detail view area on the right. In the tree structure, you select the object that you want to process. You can use the pushbuttons in the detail view area to display the entire IBase construct.

The Copy Business Partner Address pushbutton enables the system to use the business partner address of a confirmed business partner as the address of a new connection object if the workbench was started to create an object using a template. In the application toolbar beneath the tree structure, the following functions are available:

  • Confirm

Confirm a premise if you have not yet done so.

  • Save

    Save changes.

  • New

A template is added to the IBase construct (is displayed highlighted in the tree structure).

  • Delete

    Delete the enhanced parts.

  • New Search

    Return to search screen.
