The focus here is on processes in the consumer products industry, specifically the livestock market, meat, fish, milk and cheese, fruit and vegetables, timber, and leather.
You can choose within the value chain in line with your requirements whether the valuation unit is to be based on the base or parallel unit of measure for a catch weight material. In addition, you can display at any time an exact inventory management and valuation, both in the Logistics area and Accounting.

You can use material ledger functions in an IS-CWM system. The actual costing in the Actual Costing/Material Ledger (CO-PC-ACT) component enhances the range of functions in the CO application component with the goal of calculating actual costs for externally procured materials and materials manufactured in-house. In addition, actual costing uses actual costs to valuate inventories of all materials managed on a value basis, such as raw materials, semifinished products, and finished products.
Actual costing calculates an actual price (periodic unit price) for each material, into which all actual costs for the particular period flow. Using the IS-CWM system, you can make an actual cost calculation in a fiscal year also mid-period.
You can use Extended Warehouse Management in connection with SAP CWM to manage the material inventory in a separate warehouse management system. SAP EWM supports the processing of two parallel quantities in different units of measure. IS-CWM provides interfaces to EWM that support the exchange of two parallel quantities in different units of measure.
