Function documentationDelta Handling for Attributes with Fast Find

This function is suited to segmentation with a high data volume.

When working with a very large number of business partners during business partner segmentation, you do not want to have to load the business partner data and related marketing attributes to SAP NetWeaver Search and Classification (TREX) again and again. Once you have performed the initial upload, the delta handling function allows you to upload only the modified data to the TREX server at regular intervals (or to trigger it manually).

Note that delta handling is only available for data from the CRM system, and cannot be used for data from other systems.

Prerequisites

  • You are working with a high data volume (approximately 500,000 or more business partners) during business partner segmentation.

  • You are using attributes with fast find in your attribute lists and have installed SAP NetWeaver Search and Classification (TREX).

Activities

For delta handling, you must define delta source objects in Customizing. The delta source objects are those business objects that you use for the marketing attributes during business partner segmentation. For example, if you only want to select business partners for whom an activity with the status Open and the priority High currently exists, you must set the delta source object Activity to Active. During the upload of the modified data to the TREX server, only those activities are uploaded for which the status or priority have changed since the last upload.

You define which delta source objects are relevant for delta handling in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, under Start of the navigation path Marketing Next navigation step Segmentation Next navigation step High Volume Segmentation Next navigation step Define Delta Source Objects for High Volume Segmentation End of the navigation path. For more information, see the documentation for this Customizing activity.
