Tasks

Approving managers use Travel Management applications to perform the following tasks:

●      Approve travel requests (including trip advances), travel plans, and expense reports according to travel policy

●      Create reports in Travel Management

Approving managers have authorization to perform these tasks only for the employees in their respective employee lists. When acting as a substitute for another approving manager, the substitute approving manager has the same authorizations for the other manager's employees.

Activities in Travel Management (FI-TV)

Approving managers can perform the following activities:

●      Review, approve, and reject travel requests, and send comments by e-mail to the employee (if an e-mail address exists)

●      Review, approve, and reject travel plans, and send comments by e-mail to the employee (if an e-mail address exists)

●      Review, approve, and reject expense reports (including travel expense reports), and send comments by e-mail to the employee (if an e-mail address exists)

●      Send comments by e-mail to the employee (if an e-mail address exists)

●      Designate substitutes for limited periods of time

●      Act as substitute for other approving managers for limited periods of time

Depending on the personalization of the employee list, either the approving managers maintain their employee lists themselves, or the system assigns the employees automatically.

Integration

This role enables you to perform the approval process without SAP Business Workflow and Organizational Management.

Employees with this role can execute the role-based application Approving Manager in SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC).

This role contains the required authorization profile for approving trips and expenses in Manager Self-Service (MSS) of SAP NetWeaver Portal. For more information, see Worklist for Approving Managers.

This role is not suitable for use in SAP GUI and does not contain the authorization profile necessary for Web Dynpro Java-based applications in Employee Self-Service (ESS) of SAP NetWeaver Portal.
