Features

Course Program

You use the course program to make a course offering available to learners in their Learning Portal. This can contain a wide variety of courses with different delivery methods (for example, classroom training, WBT, online test). You can thus ensure that the most current courses are always available to learners so they can fulfill the requirements in their task environment.

Learners search for a suitable course offering in their Learning Portal. Once they have selected the course program, they can subscribe to it and book the courses within it at a later point in time, and cancel them if necessary. The system guides learners through the course program, which can be completed in a specific sequence and can also contain alternative courses.

Instructor/Tutor

The tutor plays a supporting role in the course. In the system, the tutor can be one of the following objects:

      Person

      Contact person

      User

      External person

You can assign one or more tutors to a course type  to make them available as potential tutors for courses. You can assign one of the potential tutors or a different tutor to a course. A tutor can be assigned to courses with all delivery methods. The input field for the tutor is additionally available to you in the following functions:

      Create Course with Resource

      Creating a Course Without Resource

      Change Course

      Display Course

In the Instructor Portal, the instructor can be supported by the tutor when holding a course.

Web-based access to the Instructor/Tutor portal role on the Instructor Portal in Web Dynpro ABAP technology

The instructor/tutor has an overview of the tasks to be completed. This includes:

Supported E-Learning Standards

      Support of SCORM 2004 standard

Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) is a collection of technical specifications and standards developed by the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) initiative that defines how Web-based learning content is created and provided to learners. The principle advantage of the SCORM standard is that learning content can be exchanged between different Learning Management Systems.

SAP Learning Solutionsupports all obligatory data fields for SCORM 2004.

      Support of AICC standard

Aviation Industry CBT Committee (AICC) is a standard of the aviation industry that regulates communication and data exchange on Web-based learning platforms. The standard contains control and reporting options and enables data exchange between learning programs (WBTs) and between learning administration programs (Content Management Systems).

SAP Learning Solutionsupports the most recent AICC standards.

      SCORM 1.2

SAP Learning Solutionsupports additional optional data fields.

Conversion report for the conversion of SCORM v1.2 elements to SCORM 2004

If you want to continue to use existing SCORM data, this conversion report is available to you. You must not start the report during live operations because the database is locked while the report is running.
