Prerequisites

You have installed the following components as of the version mentioned:

Type of Component

Component

Software Component

SAP_APPL 602

EA-APPL 602

ECC-DIMP 602

You have activated the Discrete Industries and Mill Products (DIMP) business function set and the Automotive, Innovations (AUTO_CI_1) business function.

If you want to use JIT Outbound enhancements, you must make the necessary settings in Customizing for Logistics Execution under JIT Outbound.

If you want to use JIT Inbound enhancements, you must make the necessary settings in Customizing for Logistics Execution under JIT Inbound.

If you want to use Vehicle Management System enhancements, you must make the necessary settings in Customizing for Logistics Execution under Vehicle Management System (VMS).

If you want to use Scheduling Agreement Processing enhancements, you must make the necessary settings in Customizing for Sales and Distribution under Sales Sales Documents Scheduling Agreements with Delivery Schedules.

For more information about the necessary settings, see the documentation for each function.

Features

JIT Outbound

If you activate the Automotive Innovations (AUTO_CI_1) business function, the following enhancements in JIT Outbound are available:

      Alert Framework

When error messages occur during activity processing for summarized JIT calls, the system generates alerts to inform you about specific error situations. In JIT Outbound Alerting (JITOAL) you can generate specific types of alerts.

For more information, see Alerting JIT Outbound.

      Tolerances

There are tolerances available for the delivery quantity (relative tolerance) and delivery time (absolute tolerance) that you can use to specify which deviations you deem acceptable. For each control cycle you can store a tolerance profile that is considered when creating and changing deliveries and when changing JIT calls.

You can also define a predetermined winner. You can use this setting in Customizing to define if the system is to primarily consider the call data or the delivery data when a conflicting situation arises.

For more information, see Tolerance Profile.

      Improved Error Handling

Up to now, the system frequently cancelled activity processing for summarized JIT calls due to warning messages or error messages for individual calls.

Now the system continues activity processing for summarized JIT calls in most cases, even if errors for certain calls arise. The system executes all activities that are possible to carry out without risking database inconsistencies. The system collects error and warning messages and then you can process them.

JIT Inbound

The Alert Framework is also available for JIT inbound if you activate the Automotive, Innovations (AUTO_CI_1) business function. When error messages occur during activity processing for inbound JIT calls, the system generates alerts to inform you about specific error situations.

For more information, see Alerting JIT Inbound.

Vehicle Management System

The Automotive, Innovations (AUTO_CI_1) business function provides you with the following enhancements for the Vehicle Management System:

      Several End Customers per Vehicle

Up to now, you could assign several end customers to one vehicle. This is necessary for leasing companies, for example, where the employee is the actual end customer and not the company itself.

You can assign more than one end customer to a vehicle with a specific role and validity dates using the ADCU (Additional End Customers) action. Now, you can also search for vehicles with the detailed data for the additional end customers as search criteria.

For more information, see Vehicle, End Customer, and Vehicle Details.

        Integration with SES

The vehicle search in VMS using TREX is now integrated with SES (search engine service). SES provides you with a central workbench that you can use to:

Manage and monitor object downloads to SAP TREX

       Manage indexes

Define RFC destination for SAP TREX server for a business object

Schedule and execute jobs for delta download of vehicles

For more information, see Connection to SAP TREX or Another External Search Engine.

Scheduling Agreement Processing

If you activate the Automotive, Innovations (AUTO_CI_1) business function, you can analyze and copy scheduling agreements whose document flow is so large that it decreases system performance. This is often the case for long-term business relationships between customers and vendors if they carry out delivery and billing for several years based on one single scheduling agreement. The new function copes an original scheduling agreement to a new target scheduling agreement, creates one correction delivery to adjust the cumulative quantities, and copies the current calls.

For more information, see Analysis and Copying of Scheduling Agreements.
