Alternative Units of Measure in Production

You have activated the Discrete Industries and Mill Products (DIMP) business function set and the Mill OrderToCash & Global Trade (/SAPMP/GEN_CI_1) business function.

If you want to use fast entry in the trading contract, you must activate the Enterprise Extension Global Trade Management (EA-GLT) and the Enterprise Business Function Trade, Commodity Management (ISR_RET_COMMODITY).

For the alternative units of measure in production function you might need an SCM system in which characteristics-based planning is activated.

For more information about the necessary settings, see the documentation for each function.

Features

Fast Entry of Characteristics in the Trading Contract

You can use this function to not only enter item data but also characteristic value assignments for up to ten characteristics in the item overview in the trading contract. You do not need to first go to the characteristic value assignment screen to do so.

If several items in a trading contract only differ from one another by a few characteristics, you can use local and global items for inheriting characteristic value assignments within a trading contract.

For more information see Fast Entry of Characteristics in the Trading Contract and Global and Local Items in the Trading Contract.

Sales Order Fulfillment with Requirement Reduction in Pieces

You can use this function for a material with a batch-specific material unit of measure to fulfill sales orders not only in the base unit of measure, but also in pieces (such as the number of lengths).

For more information, see Sales Order Fulfillment with Requirements Reduction in Pieces.

Control of Batch Determination

You can use this function to define for each item in the sales order which characteristic values the system uses for batch selection.

That way you can control for the batch selection in the delivery whether the system uses the characteristic values of the configuration or of the batch selection criteria (defined in the sales order). For the batch selection for length-based materials, the system can also automatically calculate intervals from the characteristic values for individual length, minus tolerance, and plus tolerance.

For information see Control of Batch Determination.

Make-to-Stock Production for Configurable Materials with External Planning

You can use this enhancement to execute make-to-stock production for configurable materials even if your system is not connected to an SAP SCM system. The material must still be subject to batch management requirement and material requirements planning (MRP) must take place in an external system. You can, however, use your own planning system to do so. In addition, you can also change the characteristic value assignments of a material variant in the production order.

For more information see Make-to-Stock Production for Configurable Materials.

Changeable Characteristic Values in the Returns Order

When creating a returns order for billing, the system uses this function to automatically copy the classification of the delivered batch instead of the configuration from the sales order item. The characteristic values are proposed values and can be changed.

For more information, see Changeable Characteristic Values in Returns Orders.

Parallel Picking with DTUC

This enhancement makes it possible to pick and pack delivery items that are not DTUC relevant or are DTUC completed, even though other delivery items are still in DTUC processing.

For more information, see Delivery-Related Trading Unit Change.

Enhancement in 'DTUC Pool' and Printing DTUC Shop Papers

If you activate the Mill OrderToCash & Global Trade business function, the system displays the following WM-specific data in the DTUC Pool (/SAPMP/LE_LBA_List) function:

      Transfer requirement number

      Transfer order number

      Transfer order status

      Storage bin of affected batch

Mass printing in the background is possible for DTUC shop papers. You can use this if you use output control.

For more information, see DTUC Pool and DTUC Shop Paper.

Alternative Units of Measure in Production

This function enables the system to support alternative units of measure in the entire production process. That means the system displays quantities for items and components in the production order without reference to a bill of material in the alternative unit of measure used.

For more information, see Alternative Units of Measure in Production.
