With this business function, you can use enterprise services to control communication between your HR system and your travel management system, and to exchange data with external reservation systems or the database systems of travel agencies.
Enterprise services enable you to model your business processes for travel management, regardless of whether you use the travel management or human resource systems of SAP, or those of another software vendor. If you use your SAP Travel Management system as a stand-alone application, the enterprise services support the communication with your SAP, or non-SAP, personnel administration system. If you use SAP Travel Management, you can use the enterprise services of this business function to exchange the travel profiles of your employees with external reservation systems or the profile databases of your travel agencies.
In addition, you can develop your own applications and user interfaces, for example, to merge the functions of your travel management applications with your HR applications.
In contrast with other business functions, no user interface changes are activated with this business function. Therefore there is no test catalog available for this business function.

● You have activated the Human Capital Management (EA-HR) enterprise extension in your ABAP-based ECC system.
● You have activated this business function in your ECC system for the ability to use the associated Customizing activities and the report programs.
● Optional: You have implemented the associated Business-Add-ins (BAdIs). For more information, see the following sections in Customizing:
○ Financial Accounting (New) → Travel Management → Enterprise Services
○ Personnel Management → Personnel Administration → Enterprise Services
You can use the enterprise services offered in Personnel Administration to supply your travel management system with a mini-master set of personnel data. This personnel data can be retrieved from a non-SAP, or an SAP, human resources system. You can create or delete the following personnel data in your travel management system:
...
● A mini-master record of personnel data, which enables you to settle the travel expenses for your employees
● Information about the corporate credit cards of your employees
If you use SAP Travel Management, you can save this information in the Communication infotype (0105).
● The e-mail addresses of your employees (for example, from an address database of an e-mail system)
If you use SAP Travel Management, you can save this information in the Communication infotype (0105).
You can use the enterprise services that read data from SAP Travel Management to create travel profiles for your employees, and to transmit this information to travel service providers. Travel profiles contain the preferences of your employees (such as nonsmoking hotel rooms or preferred seating in airplanes). Examples of how you can use this data:
● Together with data from your human resources system, you can create a travel profile for your employees that is tailored to your organization. You can then transmit this data to a GDS (for example, Amadeus or Galileo), other external reservation systems (for example, HRS or hotel.de), or to travel agencies.
● You can provide your employees with an employee self-service application, which they can use to enter their preferences along with other data relevant to travel management.
The new enterprise services are listed in the Release Notes for this business function. For a detailed description of the enterprise services, see the enterprise services for SAP ERP documentation available on SAP Help Portal: http://help.sap.com → SOA → ES for SAP ERP, or in ES Workplace: http://sdn.sap.com → Service Oriented Architecture → Explore Enterprise Services → ES Workplace, for example.
