You use this function to enable customers to search for products in your B2C Web shop catalog from within the Web shop or from external Web search engines.
You can enhance search functions within your product catalog in your Web shop, or for your product catalog from external Web sites.
You use Web crawler functionality to create static HTML pages for
your products on the Web server. The pages contain links to your B2C Web shop,
where you sell these products. When an Internet user carries out a search
for a certain product on a search engine and their search term contains a
key word in your static page, the search engine will display your static page
to the user. The user can then follow the link on this static page to your
actual Web shop. When following a link to a static Web page for a product
an Add to basket
button on this Web page enables
the user to add a product to a shopping basket at the same time as entering
the B2C Web shop.
For more information about setting up the Web Crawler Enablement application, see the CRM Web Channel basic settings configuration documentation in SAP Solution Manager.
When a customer searches for a particular term in the catalog search
area of the B2C Web shop you can set up your system to display these terms
as sponsored hyperlinks in the search results. This means that matches for
the subtitle
text of products will appear on
top of the result list and they will be marked with a specific background
color.
To do so, you must maintain a text file with a set of key value
pairs for each index you create on the TREX server. The keys are terms and
the values are hyperlinks. In the product master data in the item details
for each product you can enter in text type subtitle
a
list of space separated key words, which are typically characteristic for
the product. Once you have maintained and indexed the product catalog, search
terms entered in the Web shop product quick search will be matched against
the following:
The key word lists entered in the subtitle
text
of the products
The product ID
The product description
The product long text
The system recognizes and corrects misspelled search terms and displays the correctly spelled terms for the customer to run the search on.
For example the customer types in the search term patern.
The
system recognizes the misspelling, and displays the word pattern
to
the customer as a suggestion for the search term.
