Working with Account Hierarchies You can create and modify account hierarchies according to your business requirements. Account hierarchies enable you to depict your organizational structure and quickly reflect changes made to it, allowing you to deal with organizational changes effectively.
You have made the necessary settings for account hierarchies in Customizing for
Customer Relationship Management
under
.
You can do the following:
Vary the display of the hierarchy structure according to the validity period
Enter nodes with different validity periods
Assign business partners with validity periods to a node
You can assign a business partner to a hierarchy of the type “pricing” only if it is not already assigned to a hierarchy node in a hierarchy structure of the type “pricing” at the time in question.
The validity period of the business partner can differ from the validity period of the node.
Reassign nodes
Create new assignments of nodes
Delete assignments of hierarchy nodes and business partners, or place a time constraint on the assignments of business partners
Only the assignment of the node or substructure in the hierarchy is deleted, not the node or substructure itself.
Assignments of business partners to nodes should not be deleted, but should rather be restricted to a period not exceeding the current date. You can use this history in the business transactions.
Create condition records for the nodes that are used by the system for pricing
Enter the description of a hierarchy tree or node in different languages
Copy nodes between account hierarchies using copy and paste or cut and paste
You can do the following:
Copy hierarchy nodes with all related accounts from the current hierarchy into another hierarchy, or move (cut and paste) hierarchy nodes with all related accounts into another hierarchy
Move hierarchy nodes of type “pricing” with all related accounts and pricing conditions to another hierarchy. You cannot copy hierarchy nodes of type “pricing”.
You can copy hierarchy nodes from the account hierarchy overview page by clicking
Copy To
. After selecting the relevant target hierarchy, a new screen displays both the source hierarchy and target hierarchy side by side. By selecting the relevant nodes in the source hierarchy, you can copy and paste them or move them to the relevant point in the target hierarchy.
Display hierarchies from SAP ERP, whereby each customer hierarchy type is displayed as a substructure. You can assign business partners to ERP hierarchy nodes. These business partners are only used in processes in SAP CRM; the data is not transferred to SAP ERP.
You can assign a business partner to an ERP hierarchy of the category “pricing” only once per sales area at a particular time.
