You can use this business function to perform integrated analyses for data from Talent Management and Personnel Administration. You can also transfer existing Talent Management data from other applications to Talent Management. This business function also comprises functional enhancements and usability improvements, for example, for the talent assessment and the calibration grid. The automatic delimitation of talent relationships and successor relationships also ensures that evaluations for Talent Management are based on correct data.
As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0, the Talent Management Specialist role is available in a version for SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) in addition to the portal version. The business function HCM, Roles for SAP NetWeaver Business Client (HCM_NWBC_ROLES) provides you with an overview of all Human Resources roles that are available in a version for NWBC.

The business function HCM, Cross Analytics (HCM_ANALYTICS_1) provides you with an overview of the analyses and benchmarking tools that are available as of enhancement package 5 for all processes for Personnel Administration, Talent Management, compensation, and training activities.

The business function HCM, Hire Integration 1 (HCM_HIRE_INT_CI_1) provides a new interface for the NewHire integration scenario so that you no longer need to enter the employee information manually in Talent Management when you hire new employees.

You have activated the business function HCM, Core Processes in Talent Management (HCM_TMC_CI_1). For more information, see HCM, Core Processes in Talent Management.
The business function HCM_TMC_CI_2 enhances the features of the business function HCM_TMC_CI_1 and therefore requires that this business function is activated. The business function HCM_TMC_CI_1 is a particular prerequisite for transferring existing data to Talent Management since it comprises the new data model to which you transfer the data from the other applications.
You have made the required settings in Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development. For more information, see the release note for this business function.
When you activate this business function, you have the InfoArea Talent Management and Talent Development available as new BI Content.

Once you have activated the business functions HCM_TMC_CI_1 and HCM_TMC_CI_2, use only the new BI Content of the InfoArea Talent Management and Talent Development. Previous deliveries of BI Content for the Talent Management area are thus obsolete. For more information, see SAP Note 1223936.

.Talent management specialists have a launchpad available that they can use to display queries from the InfoArea Talent Management and Talent Development, dashboards from SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius, and a log of the automatically delimited and deleted successor assignments and talent assignments. In talent review meetings, you can discuss and calibrate talents for whom there is no valid performance assessment and/or potential assessment in the relevant period. For more information, see Discussion of Talents with Invalid Performance Assessment/Potential Assessment in Talent Review Meetings.
Talent management specialists and managers can display and print the detailed talent profile as a PDF file. For more information, see Talent Profile for Managers and Talent Management Specialists.
You can insert the calibration grid into the handouts you create while preparing talent review meetings.

For example, you can display the calibration grid as a PDF file in the preview of a talent review meeting or while holding the talent review meeting, and then print it. For more information, see Holding of Talent Review Meetings.
When performing the talent assessment, managers can also display and print the calibration grid as a PDF file. For more information, see Talent Assessment.
When you compare talents, the categories of the talents' short profiles (for example, the talent data or the organizational assignment) are displayed side-by-side. For more information, see Side-By-Side Comparison.
You can transfer the assessments that managers make for the competencies of their employees to the employees' qualifications profiles. The competency assessments for follow-up activities and decision processes that are based on the qualifications profile are then available.

.Managers can delete their talent assessments, provided that they have not completed them. For more information, see Talent Assessment.
The system automatically delimits or deletes successor assignments and talent assignments for employees if one of the following situations arises:
An employee previously assigned to a position as a potential successor becomes the new holder of this position.
A talent leaves the enterprise.
You can also display and clean up inconsistent successor assignments and talent assignments that already exist in your system.
