You can use this Business Function to use the Uniform Communication Standard (UCS) DEX (Direct Exchange), which is an electronic data exchange format, to connect a driver's mobile device with a customer's system so they can exchange delivery data. In Direct Store Delivery (DSD) you can transfer data (upload), save data, and display the resulting DEX communication data in the ERP system.

You have activated the Business Functions DEX Enablement for DSD (/DSD/DEX) and Enhancement of the DSD Process (/DSD/BF) and the Enterprise Extension SCM Extension (EA-SCM).

Note Note

You cannot use the data exchange format DEX with SAP XMDSD 2.1 or SAP MDSD 3.0. For more information about MDSD, see SAP Note 755712 and the documentation on the necessary settings for each function.

Features

The functions of the DEX Enablement for DSD business function are completely integrated in Direct Store Delivery and comprise the following areas:

  • Transferring the necessary data for DEX communication to the mobile device (download)

  • Transferring the DEX communication data (that results from the DEX communication between the mobile device and the customer's system) from the mobile device to the SAP ERP system (upload)

  • Saving the transferred DEX communication data in the SAP ERP system

  • Checking the DEX communciation data by displaying, printing, or exporting it

  • Archiving DEX communication data
