Work Area Management

Tasks

You use this role to support you with the organization of industrial hygiene and safety in your enterprise. The reference object for this role is the work area. You can define work areas flexibly and store industrial hygiene and safety-specific data for each work area.

Activities in the SAP Environment, Health and Safety Software

The role consists of the following main activities:

Display and editing of work area data and hierarchies
Creating work area-related exposure profiles
Describing the technical organization of industrial hygiene and safety using industrial hygiene and safety data
Entering industrial hygiene and safety measures, for example, a health and safety briefing of an employee
Creating questionnaires and checklists
Linking the work area with other SAP objects
Assigning external documents, such as emergency plans, building plans, photographs

Integration

The work area management role works in close cooperation with the following roles:

Report Information System – Industrial Hygiene and Safety (SAP_EHS_IHS_REPORTINO)

With this role you can determine and generate all reports into which data from work area management flows, such as standard operating procedures.

Processing of Functional Location (SAP_PM_EQM_FUNC_LOC_PROCESS) and Processing of Equipment (SAP_PM_EQM_EQUIPMENT_PROCESS)

You can link the work area to a functional location or equipment by means of a reference. This means you can directly access object information from Plant Maintenance. You can also link the work area with a storage location in Materials Management. The storage locations must have been created beforehand in Customizing for the Enterprise Structure.
