Commitment Date
field:
Figure 6 shows the results when you create the business transaction
Figure 7 shows the results when you change the business transaction
The requested delivery date and the confirmation date are before the end of the agreed delivery time. Therefore, the system calculates the commitment date as follows (see Figure 6)
Commitment Date
=
A
Posting date + agreed delivery time (March 15) is the commitment date.
Commitment Date
=
B
or
C
Confirmation date (March 10) is the commitment date.
The requested delivery date and the confirmation date are before the end of the agreed delivery time. Therefore, the system recalculates the commitment date as follows (see Figure 7)
Commitment Date
=
A
Posting date + agreed delivery time (March 15) is the commitment date.
Commitment Date
=
B
The system takes the new confirmation date (March 11) as the commitment date.
Commitment Date
=
C
The system compares the old confirmation date (March 10) with the new confirmation date (March 11). It then takes the date that is more advantageous for the customer (March 10) as the commitment date.
Note
For
Commitment Date
=
C
, the commitment date is
before
the new confirmation date. Therefore, you have a problem with fulfilling your promise to deliver to the customer on time.
