Component documentationCRM via E-Mail

You can use CRM via E-Mail as follows:

  • You can create and request data from your SAP CRM system using standard e-mail technology. This enables you to communicate with the system using text-based e-mail from a computer and most mobile devices.

  • You can create business documents in SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe.

You can send the documents to the SAP CRM system as e-mail attachments (XML) as soon as you are online. The CRM via E-Mail application extracts the relevant data and creates the respective CRM business document automatically.

For information about the set-up steps for this scenario, see Setting Up CRM via E-Mail with SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe.

    Example Example

A sales representative wants to create customer data (customer meeting reports, leads, or new opportunities) offline, for example at the customer’s site. The sales representative sends a data extract (XML) from SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe to the SAP CRM system by e-mail. The e-mail is stored in the sales representative’s outbox. When the sales representative is online again, the e-mail application sends the e-mail to SAP CRM automatically. The CRM via E-Mail application extracts the data from the e-mail and creates the necessary business document. Finally, the CRM via E-Mail application sends a reply e-mail to confirm the document creation or update.

    End of the example.
