Definition of Route, Carrier, and Means of Transport In the sales order, you can define a route, carrier, and means of transportthat are then processed in SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO).
In addition to CRM Enterprise, the following system requirements apply:
SAP ECC 6.0
SAP SCM 5.0
The system configuration for service parts management is active. You can find more information on this in the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG) for
Customer Relationship Management
under
.
You can enter the following transport data manually in the sales order at header level or for each order item.
Route
Carrier
Means of transport
Transport data stored at header level applies to all order items for which you have not defined specific data. As soon as a partial delivery has taken place for an order item, you can no longer change the transport data for this item.
If you do not enter the transport data manually, SAP APO determines it on item level during scheduling. If you change the data manually, the system carries out scheduling and the availability check for the order items again. If you enter data manually, it is not changed by SAP APO.
The means of transport influences route determination in SAP APO. If you do not manually specify the means of transport, it is determined by SAP APO. A means of transport determined by SAP APO is not returned to SAP CRM.
