Definition

Product models that are limited to a manageable number of characteristics and dependencies. These product models are aimed at occasional users of interactive product configuration and are generally used in scenarios in which an occasional user configures a product on his or her own.

Use

Products that are easy to configure are especially suitable for use with the configuration conflict tool.

Properties

·        Usually deals with relatively small product models.

·        In the configuration, characteristics can be assigned values at the root object only.

·        Non-configurable product components are determined by dependencies only.

·        Class items are specialized by dependencies only.
