Upload Portal Roles

You upload business roles as portal roles by using the role upload tool. Before you upload a business role as a portal role, you need to perform all Customizing in the business role, because the uploaded portal role has the same content as the business role (1:1 mapping). Define your business role in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, by choosing Start of the navigation path Business Roles Next navigation step Overview End of the navigation path.

Upload business roles to portal roles in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, by choosing Start of the navigation path UI Framework Next navigation step Portal Integration Next navigation step Upload Business Role End of the navigation path. Proceed as follows:

  1. Start the upload tool to generate the portal content.

  2. Import the XML file to the portal.

    1. Choose Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step Transport Next navigation step XML Content and Actions Next navigation step Import End of the navigation path.

    2. Select the generated XML file.

    3. Click Execute to import the selected XML file.

    The XML file is imported and generates a report that contains all iViews and worksets in your business role. The status of every generated iView is also displayed in the report.

  3. Generate portal content in the portal.

    1. Choose Start of the navigation path Content Administration Next navigation step Portal Content End of the navigation path.

    2. Under Browse choose the main folder, for example, Start of the navigation path Portal Content Next navigation step Content Provided by SAP Next navigation step specialist Next navigation step CRM Foundation End of the navigation path.

    3. Open the folder with the business role content.

    4. Click the profile icon of the business role.

    5. In the context menu, choose Start of the navigation path Open Next navigation step Object End of the navigation path.

    6. Adapt the content of the role in the Property Editor.

  4. Assign the generated portal role to the user.

    To use the generated content in the portal, the user needs to be assigned to the generated role.

    1. In the masthead, choose Start of the navigation path Personalize Next navigation step User Profile Next navigation step Assigned Roles End of the navigation path

    2. Choose Modify and search for the role.

    3. Select the role under Available Roles and click Add.

      The selected role is added to the Assigned Roles area.

    4. Save your entries.

  5. Check the portal role content.

Create CRM iViews

After you have uploaded a business role, you can adapt the generated portal role in the portal environment. If you have portal administrator rights, you can create, for example, additional iViews in the portal. To create your own iViews, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Content Administration Next navigation step Portal Content End of the navigation path in the portal.

  2. Select the role and the iView folder in which you want to create your iView.

  3. Choose Start of the navigation path New Next navigation step iView End of the navigation path in the context menu.

  4. Under Source Type, choose the first option: iView template - create an iView from an existing iView template.

  5. Under Step 1: Template Selection, choose t<role name>, for example, tSALESPRO.

  6. Under Step 2: General Properties, enter the following parameters:

    • The iView name as it is displayed in the detailed navigation.

    • The iView ID that is the link ID of the corresponding entry.

    • The namespace and the other parameters; the domain is ' B2 '.

  7. Under Step 3: Definition Type of BSP, choose Application.

  8. Under Step 4: BSP Parameters, enter the following parameters:

    • Replace the placeholder <CRMLogLink> with your link ID under Application Parameters.

    • Enter the open parameters.

  9. Finish the iView Wizard.

  10. Select the new iView in the iView folder.

  11. Choose Start of the navigation path Open Next navigation step Object-Based Navigation End of the navigation path in the context menu.

  12. Choose Start of the navigation path Browse Next navigation step Business Objects Next navigation step SAP CRM UI Next navigation step CRMLinkNav End of the navigation path.

  13. Choose the link ID and choose Add Operation to iView in the context menu.

  14. Save your entries.
