Creating and Editing of Object Dependencies
You can use the modeling environment for Variant Configuration to create object dependencies for characteristics, characteristic values, or configuration profiles, as well as edit existing dependencies.
In the modeling environment, you can create and edit:
If you have dependencies that are similar, you can create new global dependencies using templates in transaction PMEVC. To do this, enter an existing dependency and choose Copy.
You can also enter an engineering change management (ECM) number or a date to find further templates, as well as copy constraints that belong to a different constraint net (however, you cannot copy the constraint nets themselves). Local dependencies and dependencies in the PMEVC buffer can also act as templates.
Note
Make sure the template is the same type as the new dependency, for example, a procedure or a constraint.
You can also use wizards to create dependencies. For more information, see Creation of Dependencies with the Wizard.
