You can use the Console at the bottom of the Storyboard desktop to display error and trace logs.

Process

Select the level of the logs as follows:

  1. Choose   Tools   Options  . The Options dialog box is displayed.

  2. Click the Administration tab.

  3. From the Log severity drop-down list, choose the level you require:

    • Fatal indicates the occurrence of an error from which the application cannot recover and this severe situation has caused fatal termination.

      This level displays only fatal errors.

    • Error indicates that the application can recover from an error that has occurred, but it cannot fulfill the required task due to the error.

      This level displays errors, warnings and fatal messages.

    • Warning indicates that an anomaly has occurred. The application can recover and fulfill the required task but it requires attention from a developer or operator.

      This level displays warnings and fatal error messages.

    • Info is text describing that actions that have been performed.

      This level includes all levels of log messages.

    • None indicates that no logs will be written.

  4. From the Trace severity drop-down list, choose from the following levels:

    • Path is used to trace the execution flow and is the commonly-selected trace option.

    • Debug is used debugging purposes, with extensive and low-level information.

    • None indicates that no trace messages will be written.

Result

According to the selections made in the Administration tab of the Options dialog box, you can view the log and trace messages in the Console by dragging the pane separator at the bottom of the workspace up to open the Console.
