You use the Compose Model task panel to create the model diagram, selecting the model components and elements that you require. You do this on the Design board.

Prerequisites

You have created a new model (   Model   New Model)  or opened an existing model in Storyboard.

Procedure

  1. From the Design board, click the Compose button in the task-panel toolbar. The elements available for composing the model are displayed according to the level of the model, meaning, as you drill down from page to iView, for example, more elements are available.

  2. Drag the element(s) you require from the task panel to the Design board.

  3. To create components for a lower level (such as an iView), double-click the component icon or choose Drill Down from the context menu of the item.

  4. Connect the items as needed, defining input to data services, output from data services, and UI components that are connected through data binding (meaning that the same data is displayed in both elements).

A general description of each element displayed in the task panel is given in the sections that follow. For detailed information about each element, refer to Compose Model Task Panel in the SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer Reference Guide.

Result

Your basic model is created, displaying the application logic. Now you are ready to configure each of the UI elements, explained in Configure Elements.

Example

Your model may contain data services, UI components, operators and other model elements, as in the following (fairly basic) example:
