Procedure documentationUnlocking Models on the Server Locate this document in the navigation structure

A model in a client-workspace folder is locked when the user opens it for editing, allowing other users who have access to the model to open it in read-only mode for viewing only. Each user can unlock only those models in his or her own workspace, using the Storyboard Unlock Models function.

Models in the Public folder can be unlocked in Storyboard only by an Administrator. In this case, care must be taken to prevent two users editing the same model at the same time, which ultimately can result in data loss on the part of one or both of the users.

In cases where a model in a client-workspace folder has been locked and the creator of the model is not available to unlock it, the system Administrator can unlock that file using Visual Administrator.
