In this example, you build an iView in which the user can input a sales organization in order to display a table of all incoming orders that belong to that organization. You enhance this input form with a button that provides value help by displaying an additional dialog box that lists all valid values for the sales organization field. This helps the user select the right value to submit.
You have access to an SAP BI system (NetWeaver 2004 SP Stack 14 or greater), and it is configured to connect via the SAP BI Connector in the portal landscape. See Defining Portal Systems and Aliases in the SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer Installation & Configuration Guide.
The necessary demo content is activated in the system. This example is based on the InfoCube SAP Demo: Sales and Distribution: Ovewrview, query order and sales values (technical name: 0D_SD_C03_Q009).
You have been mapped to a user of this BI system.
You build the iView in three stages:
Build the query, table, and input form: Configuring the Main Model Elements
Create the button for the input form and configure the value help it will evoke: Adding and Configuring Value Help
Fine-tune the layout of the input form and the value help dialog box itself, and deploy the model: Fine-Tuning and Deployment
In this example, you learn to perform a number of basic tasks of Visual Composer, including:
Integrate a query based on an SAP BI data service into your model
Add an input form to the query, and output the results into a table
Add a button to the input form that provides value help
Configure the type of value help and the values that will appear
Configure the layout of the value help dialog box
Deploy to Adobe Flash format
