Using the Handling Indicator
This function enables you to display a handling indicator for a product in the sales order at item level, if a value was entered for this field in the product master record.
The handling indicator provides logistics information on the product, and shows whether a product has to be handled in a particular way in the warehouse or when it is transported.
Note
You can use it to store information in the sales order for the product Foam Mat for example, specifying that the product must always be stored unrolled and flat.
If you have assigned the set type CRM_PR_REST_IN to the related product category, you see the field Handling Indicator
in the SAP CRM product master record assignment block Display Handling Indicator
. You enter the corresponding value of the handling indicator for each product in this field.

The handling indicators are processed in table THNDLCD in SAP ECC, and assigned for each product in the product master data. The product is then transferred with the handling indicator to SAP CRM. To ensure that SAP CRM does not reject the product, the fixed value has to be identical for both systems.
