Quantity Checks in the Sales Order
When creating sales transactions, the system executes different checks of the quantities entered. When you enter a requested quantity for a sales order item, the system can, for example, check whether this quantity is feasible. The system can check the following quantities and, if necessary, round them:
Minimum order quantity
Maximum order quantity
Delivery quantity
The system checks whether the order quantity does not reach the minimum order quantity, whether the maximum order quantity has been exceeded in the sales transaction, and whether the quantity is not a multiple of the delivery unit. Should this be the case during order creation, a message appears but the transaction can still be saved.
The minimum order quantity check refers to a specific quantity that a customer must reach when issuing an order. You specify the minimum order quantity in the product master data.
The system checks whether the order quantity falls short of the minimum order quantity. You can set up your system so that it automatically increases the quantity to the minimum order quantity. To do this, set the indicator Minimum Quantity
for the business transaction

You can specify a maximum order quantity for an item in the sales transaction. The system checks whether the maximum order quantity has been exceeded in the sales transaction. If this is the case when a sales order is created, a message appears. However, the sales order can still be saved.
