The following example illustrates how the results of quantity rounding are displayed in the sales order.

The following criteria apply:

Available Stock

6 pc/12 pc/18 pc

Round down

10 pc

The availability check does not include a rules-based ATP check (RBA).

Enough stock is available.

  1. The requested quantity for the sales order item is 8 pieces.

  2. SAP APO rounds the 8 pieces down to 6 pieces.

  3. Since 6 pieces are available, the availability check can confirm all 6 pieces.

  4. The system rounds the 6 pieces; the package unit of 6 pieces is suitable.

  5. The requested quantity is higher than the confirmed quantity. However, the rounded requirement is equal to the confirmed quantity. Therefore, there are no outstanding requirements, even though the original requested quantity was not fulfilled (this is the effect of rounding).
