Function documentationConfirmation Rule

The results of the availability check may be such that the confirmed delivery date is later than requested, or the confirmed quantity is less than requested.

Here you can control how SAP APO should return the results of the availability check to the sales order in such a case.

Prerequisites

In addition to CRM Enterprise, the following minimum system requirements apply:

  • SAP SCM 5.0

  • SAP ECC 6.0

The system configuration for service parts management is active. You can find more information on this in Customizing under Start of the navigation path Customer Relationship Management Next navigation step Transactions Next navigation step Basic Settings Next navigation step Activate System Configuration for Service Parts Management End of the navigation path.

Features

The following values for the Confirmation Rule field are available:

Confirmation Rule

Results of the availability check, if not all of the items can be confirmed for the requested delivery date:

One-Time Delivery

One confirmation for the maximum quantity possible on the latest confirmation date

Complete Delivery

If possible, one confirmation with the full quantity on the latest confirmation date; otherwise, no confirmation possible

Delivery Proposal

Several confirmations with partial quantities on several confirmation dates

Note that there is also a Delivery Control field in the sales order's Shipping assignment block. This field controls how shipping is to be carried out, for example, whether complete or partial delivery is allowed. This has no influence on the availability check.

The entries in the Confirmation Rule and Delivery Control fields must agree with each other. The Delivery Control field is at item level in the Shipping assignment block.

Activities

You can preassign a value to this field on the account overview page for the sold-to party under Sales Area Data in the Available-to-Promise (Availability Check) area.

When you create a sales order, this field value is transferred to the sales order under Details.

When you create a sales order item, the field value is transferred from the header to the item, in the Details assignment block.

You can overwrite this field value in the sales order.

If there are any subitems, they inherit the field value from the higher-level item. You cannot change the field value in a subitem that results from an availability check (for example, in a kit component, or in a subitem resulting from the rules-based availability check).
