Function documentationExclusion of Products in the Availability Check

In the rules-based availability check (ATP check), it is possible for SAP APO to substitute a product that you have entered in the sales order with another product. If the product found in SAP CRM is not permitted for the customer because of a listing, you can automatically perform another availability check with this product excluded.

Prerequisites

You use SAP SCM 5.0.

You have excluded certain products by using listings.

You can find more information about listings in the SAP Library for SAP Customer Relationship Management under Start of the navigation path Components and Functions Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Listings End of the navigation path.

You have set up the iterative availability check in Customizing under Start of the navigation path Customer Relationship Management Next navigation step Basic Functions Next navigation step Availability Check Next navigation step Availability Check Using SAP APO Next navigation step Rules-Based Availability Check Next navigation step Control Iterative Availability Check for Excluded Products End of the navigation path.

Features

When SAP APO performs a product substitution within the context of the availability check, SAP CRM checks the items transferred back by SAP APO for excluded products. If excluded products or locations are found, SAP CRM automatically restarts an availability check in SAP APO with these products excluded.

SAP CRM starts this new availability check with excluded products only once. If the second availability- or listing check fails, SAP CRM marks the item as not available.

You can find more information in the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Start of the navigation path Customer Relationship Management Next navigation step Basic Functions Next navigation step Availability Check Next navigation step Availability Check Using SAP APO Next navigation step Rules-Based Availability Check End of the navigation path.
