In this example, only 6 pieces of the requested product and 2 pieces of the substitute product (8 pieces in total) could be confirmed. There is a remaining requirement of 2 pieces, which cannot be taken into consideration for planning in SAP APO.
This setting is not recommended, since the remainder of the requested quantity in this case can never be confirmed or sent to the customer.
