You can also create your own homepages. You can define homepages for each folder at every possible menu level. A homepage for a folder means that when the folder is selected, the associated homepage is displayed.

You can also specify that a folder is to be used for printing or as a service map, for instance. You can also make the OBN settings for navigation.

Note

Note that it is not possible to define a homepage for a folder directly from within the menu tree itself. Instead, the homepage for the folder is defined within the actual folder.

Each entry within a folder can be specified as the homepage. If it is, the homepage is not displayed as a standard entry from the client. It is only displayed if the associated folder is clicked on.

We recommend you to associate a homepage with the folder on the first level. This can be a status page that, for instance, the POWL uses to display work to be done, statistics, analyses, and so on, for a specific role.

Caution

Note that homepages are not associated with specific folders based on their name. The names are language-dependent texts, meaning they are variable strings. The homepage is associated with a folder using tagging. If there is a transaction tagged as a homepage within a specific folder, it is associated with this folder.

To define a homepage, on the Menu tab page select the folder you want and choose Additional Details from the context menu.

      Icon path

This field is not used at present.

The following checkboxes are also available:

      Invisible

This appends an entry to the role that is not visible in any menu. The entry is only indirectly used, for instance, as an OBN goto target.

      Homepage

The entry is flagged as a homepage for the respective folder.

      Report

The entry is flagged as a report. This results in a different display of the session in the client, that is, the session icon corresponding to the report type is displayed in the client.

      Create/New

Here a new business object can be created directly from the main menu.

      As a Service Map

The entry is flagged as a service map. A service map is a generic overview iView that displays the structure of a role or work set as a graphic and as text.

      To Print

The entry is flagged as a print object. This results in a different display of the session in the client, that is, the session area corresponding to the print type is displayed in the client.

You can find Information about business object specification in Business Client and OBN.
