Background documentation Assigning Roles to Cockpits  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

There are two ways of assigning a role to a specific cockpit, either using the report described below or in SAP-internal systems on the SAP Internal tab page in transaction PFCG.

NWBC_SET_ADDITIONAL_ROLE_ATTR Report

You can use the NWBC_SET_ADDITIONAL_ROLE_ATTR report to specify additional attributes for a role in customer systems. These are used to associate specific information with the role, so that the NWBC runtime can make the relevant rendering decisions. At present the NWBC.Cockpit tag is provided for this.

This report also serves as a filter that you can use to define a special role for a specific cockpit.

Procedure

FüF...

       1.      Execute the NWBC_SET_ADDITIONAL_ROLE_ATTR report.

       2.      Specify the name of the role for which you want to maintain additional attributes and enter the name of the cockpit.

The cockpit name must match the relevant entry in the ICF service tree.

If you do not specify anything here and a user is assigned the relevant role, this role is shown in all cockpits. However, if this role is selected for only one or only a few cockpits, it is shown only in the cockpits affected.

       3.      If you want to delete existing additional attributes that are maintained for the role, select the Delete checkbox.

       4.      Choose Execute.

You go to the transport request dialog. Since the role has changed, you have to assign it to a transport so that the changes can be transported to follow-on systems.

       5.      Specify an existing transport request or use the relevant pushbutton to create a new transport request. Then choose Continue.

Result

The current settings are displayed.

Example:

Set additional role attributes

SAP_TESTROLE

NWBC.Cockpit=demoA

PFCG: SAP Internal

In transaction PFCG in SAP-internal systems, there is an SAP Internal tab page that you can use to maintain additional attributes.

Choose Other Attributes  ®  Country, Industry, and so on  ®  New Entries.

      Attribute Type: Different Configuration Indicators

Note that the NWBC runtime only evaluates the MISC attribute.

      Attribute Value: Value in the format NWBC.Attribute=Value

Make sure that no empty spaces are added before and after the equal sign.

The following attributes are supported:

NWBC.Cockpit=cockpit

If this tag is not set, and a user is assigned the respective role, this role is shown in all cockpits. However, if this role is selected for only one or only a few cockpits, it is shown only in the cockpits affected.

This attribute can be set more than once, and once for each cockpit the role is assigned to.

Example

Example of a role tagging:

 MISC  NWBC.Cockpit=demoA

 MISC  NWBC.Cockpit=demoB
