Background documentation Prerequisites  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

The prerequisites for implementing a federated portal network are as follows:

●      SAP NetWeaver consumer and producer portals are all running SAP NetWeaver 7.0.

●      Non-SAP producer and consumer portals are all WSRP-compliant.

●      For each SAP NetWeaver Portal, you have installed usage type EP Core (EPC) and completed the initial configuration steps. Each portal must be fully operational.

●      The user bases of all portals in the network adhere to the requirements described in User Persistence.

Note

The configuration of your user management system begins already during the installation of SAP NetWeaver Application Server.

●      You have extensive understanding of the portal permission model, since certain aspects of this scenario variant rely heavily on permission configurations. For more information, Portal Permissions in the portal administration documentation.
