Procedure

If you want to enhance components in the UI Component Workbench, proceed as follows:

  1. Start transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB.

  2. Choose the component that you want to enhance.

  3. Choose the Display pushbutton.

  4. Click the Enhance Component pushbutton.

  5. Choose the enhancement set.

  6. In the BSP Application for Storing Enhancement Objects dialog box, choose an existing BSP application or create a new one.

    Recommendation Recommendation

    We recommend that you create your own BSP application in which you store the enhancements for each component. If you have not yet created enhancements for this component, enter a new name for the BSP application. For more information, see SAP Note 1122248Information published on SAP site.

  7. Select a view under Start of the navigation path Browser Component Structure Next navigation step Component Next navigation step Views End of the navigation path.

    Note Note

    All gray objects have not yet been enhanced. All black objects have already been enhanced. All blue objects are obsolete, since they are not used in the current release.

  8. Choose Enhance in the context menu.

    The object is created automatically in the customer namespace.

  9. Select a workbench request.

  10. Select a package.

    You can create a new package in transaction SE 80.

  11. Make the necessary enhancements.

    Note Note

    The different colors of the icons to the left of the methods have the following meanings:

    • Yellow means that the method is inherited

    • Green means that the method is redefined

    • Gray means that the method does not exist

You can delete enhancements by choosing the Delete Component Enhancement pushbutton.

Result

In the view cluster BSPWDVC_CMP_EXT, which you can open with transaction SM34, you can see the substitution.
