Delivering One Item With One Delivery

Use

If availability check and scheduling are carried out for a sales order item, then several delivery dates could be confirmed for this item. In this case, several confirmation schedule lines will be generated for the item, for which several deliveries will be carried out at different times.

You can ensure that a single item in a sales order is delivered with a single delivery by assigning this item to a delivery group.

Example Example

In the following example, all items are relevant for the availability check.

Item 20 is assigned to delivery group 1 .

On the basis of the availability check, two confirmation schedule lines have automatically been created:

15 pieces can be confirmed for the first requested delivery date of December 12

5 pieces are confirmed for a later date: December 15

Two deliveries would normally take place for item 20. Since item 20 is assigned to a delivery group however, all 20 pieces will be delivered on December 15 in one delivery.

End of the example.

Features

When you assign an item to a delivery group, a delivery group schedule line will be generated for this item. The date for the delivery group schedule line will be taken from the confirmation schedule line with the latest confirmation date.

The delivery group schedule line, and not the confirmation schedule lines, will be used as a basis for delivery.

Activities

To assign a sales order item to a delivery group, enter a number in the Delivery Group column for the relevant item.
