Uploading Roles in a System Landscape 

If you have a complex system landscape with development, test, and production system, you should note the following when uploading roles:

• Transport your roles from your ABAP development system or ABAP test system to your ABAP production system.
• Either upload your roles immediately from the ABAP production system to the EP production system or EP test system.

Note that you define a system within your portal system landscape for the ABAP backend system from which you upload the objects. When defining the system, you must use the ID of the logical system name of the ABAP-based backend system for the alias name of this system.

For example, if you upload your roles from the ABAP development system to the EP production system and only one system referring to the ABAP production system is defined in the EP production system, you must adjust the system definition with the system parameters and change the alias names after uploading.
