Monitoring the Performance of the
UME
Cache
Use
The cache of the user management engine (UME) on the server nodes stores UME object information to increase system performance. Use this procedure to check if your cache settings indicate an impact on system performance.
Prerequisites
● Your system includes SAP NetWeaver Portal
● You must have a user assigned to the System Administration role of the portal
Procedure

1. In the System Administration role of the portal, choose Support ® Support Desk.
2. Choose User Management.
3. Choose Cahce monitor of UME objects.
4. Monitor the UME cache statistics.
Result
If the following conditions occur, consider adjusting your UME cache configuration:
● If the number of objects is consistently equal to your initial cache size, consider increasing the initial cache size or adding a server node to your cluster.
● If the hit counter percentages ratio is consistently low, your system may be throwing out objects too quickly. Consider increasing the initial cache size or increasing the caching time.
