You trigger billing from the billing due list in the SAP GUI if you want to use variants, which predefine a set of selection parameters for collective billing.

Activities

You can find the billing due list on the SAP Easy Access screen under Start of the navigation path Sales/Service Next navigation step Billing Next navigation step Maintain Billing Due List End of the navigation path.

Note Note

In the Default Data area on the selection screen, you can enter new billing parameters (billing type and billing date) that override any values predefined in Customizing (the billing type is defined in Customizing for billing, and the billing date in Customizing for transactions).

These alternate parameters are applied to the billing documents that are created during billing.

You have the following options:

  • From the selection screen, bill all billing due list items matching your selection criteria, by choosing Bill.

  • From the selection screen, start a collective billing run for all billing due list items matching your selection criteria, by choosing Collective Run.

  • Select items for individual or collective billing, or schedule a collective billing run as follows:

    1. Once you have entered your selection criteria, you choose Maintain to display the billing due list.

      Items blocked due to Customizing for item categories are marked with a yellow triangle. Items not marked with a yellow triangle were blocked in the transaction/delivery.

    2. You can display detailed information for the blocked billing due list items by expanding the business transaction and double-clicking on the required item. Or you can select the item and choose Display Item Details.

    3. To bill one or more items, you select the relevant items and choose Individual Billing, Collective Billing, or Online Collective Billing.

  • Retrieve saved selection criteria using a report variant, by choosing Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Variants Next navigation step Get Report Variant End of the navigation path.

  • Save your selection criteria as a new report variant, by choosing Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Variants Next navigation step Save as Variant End of the navigation path.

Billing Statuses

Icons in the billing due list show the processing status of items:

  • Green: billing was successful

  • Yellow: you have not yet executed billing for the item

  • Red: billing was unsuccessful (errors occurred)

    If the system cannot successfully execute billing, it creates an error log. To view this, choose Display Error Log.

Collective Billing Run Logs

If you have executed one or more collective billing runs, you can also display the collective run log by choosing Display Collective Run.

In the CRM WebClient UI, you can see the results of background processing on the Collective Run Log page or access the log from the Billing Due List page.

Billing Documents

You can display a billing document as soon as it has been created by selecting an item, clicking on the right mouse button, and choosing Display Document.
